Health & Safety

<?php echo $html_safe_name;?>

At the forefront of GEM’s culture is our focus on Health & Safety. We maintain a Safety Excellence program, which is integrated into our day-to-day operations. Our employees recognize that we operate in a safety-sensitive environment and each employee has a responsibility to establish and maintain a safe work site. The GEM Health & Safety program is not driven by our corporate or regional safety representatives, but by each and every employee within the organization. Beyond the site specific safety plans, pre-job tail gate meetings, or unannounced safety audits, GEM operates within a safety culture where there is no alternative.

GEM invests substantially in employee career development. Each field employee receives in-house classroom training consisting of over 40 separate training modules to include an Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Hazard Communication and Behavior Based Safety. We are continually challenging our team to develop new modules as we strive for our goal of Zero Recordable Injuries.

We are proud of our history of safe work practices. GEM maintains an industry leading EMR, TRIR & PICS rating in ISN Networld.

GEM had received numerous safety awards throughout the years. See more on safety awards in the “News” section of this site.

GEM is proud to be a member of the following Safety Consortiums:
